Shanice Hayes, the creator of HairSecrets began her professional journey as a qualified hairdresser at Toni and Guy. She noticed the lack of education there was in the styling of black hair textures. As a result Shanice opted to take a route which would provide hands-on experience working with black clients. This enabled her to advance her skills as a hairstylist, in ways that are often overlooked by Eurocentric salons.
Shanice was able to learn exactly how to meet the requirements which promote strong healthy hair while maintaining various styles and textures. This niche perspective meant Shanice was able to develop products which would align with her ethos.
Although the idea of beginning her own line of cosmetics was intimidating, Shanice saw the necessity during the 2020 lockdown. Taking up a DIY project (as most of us tried to) Shanice endeavoured to make her own shea butter. After posting the result on her social media Shanice was met with a stream of requests for purchasing. This provided the reassurance she needed that the customers were indeed out there and waiting for a line like hers.

What makes Hairs3crets unique is that we use natural herbs and seeds to make our hair products. Hairs3crets hair products are also suitable for all hair types and for children to use from ages as young as 2 months old. Everything is handmade by myself. I make all orders fresh and to suit the needs of individual customers. If there is a particular ingredient someone is allergic to I take it out and replace it with something else that will be suitable. Hairs3crets products are Paraben, SLS, and SLES-free. My line also includes natural hair gel and edge control that won’t cause breakage to the hair!
